Love ruled this Sunday’s Raahgiri in Gurgaon. The Raahgirs showed their romantic side and pasted their kisses of love on the Times of India’s Wall of Kisses.
The lipstick marks on simple post-its held a multitude of meanings. For Ritu Sunil*, a resident of Sushant Lok, it stood for hope. She told us, “My kiss is for the love of my life who is not with me.

It’s been a long time since I have met him. I come to Raahgiri hoping to bump into him. I am married now, but I can’t move on. I am hopeful that things will get better.” Another hopeful and very much in love Raahgir was Rupal Dhonkeriya, a resident of DLF Phase 4.
Rupal told us, “I work in Gurgaon while my boyfriend stays in another city. I was not able to spend Valentine’s Day with him, so I just wanted to say that I will catch up with him soon. The message is also for my parents as I miss them as well.”
While for women it was an easy task to put on lipstick and plant a kiss of love, for the men it was like a dare. Still, many did put on the lipstick, saying that this was the least they could do for the one they love. Suraj Gautam, a resident of Sushant Lok, said, “I love my girlfriend and putting on lipstick for her is really nothing.”
While the adults indulged in showing their love, a few children also took the opportunity to declare their love for tigers and the environment. Class V students of GD Goenka World School presented a play on saving tigers and the environment. Geetika Sehgal, a faculty member of the school, told us, “Whether the children are able to spread the message or not, what’s more important is that they have really understood the importance of the message. They have asked their parents to not buy fur and leather and to preserve trees.”
